Gerard is a Managing Associate in the Private Equity team. His experience is focused on private equity and corporate / M&A transactions, advising, principally, private equity sponsors and other institutional investors on a variety of investment transactions, including buyouts, divestments, carve-outs, joint ventures, minority investments and special situations as well as general corporate advisory work for investee entities. He has acted in transactions covering a wide range of sectors, including tech / SaaS, engineering, manufacturing, energy, consumer, food and drink, media and transport. Prior to joining Addleshaw Goddard, Gerard was an associate in the private equity groups at two US firms and a magic circle firm in London.

  • Advising Bridges Fund Management on its acquisition of Alina Homecare, a leading UK provider of care to vulnerable elderly people.
  • Advising the senior management team on the sale by Cinven of Kurt Geiger to Steve Madden for £289m.
  • Advising Nash Squared on the carve out and sale of IT services outsourcing business, NashTech, to PAG.
  • Advising British International Investment, Norfund and Swedfund in relation to their investment in AgDevCo (a specialist investor focused on sustainable agricultural businesses in Sub-Saharan Africa)
  • Advising Blantyre Capital and its portfolio company, DC Foods, on its acquisition of a target in the foods and drinks industry.*
  • Advising PMB Capital on its co-investment, alongside Octopus Energy and Legal and General, in ground-source heat pump business, Kensa Group. *
  • Advising Exigent Group on its acquisition by Morae Global.* 
  • Advising Macquarie on its $2.2 billion acquisition of an aircraft portfolio from ALAFCO Aviation Lease and Finance Company K.S.C.P. *
  • Advising EMK Capital on its acquisition of Williams Advanced Engineering (WAE) from the Williams Formula 1 group and its subsequent exit from WAE upon its sale
