Michael is a senior litigator and commercial advisor who has practiced law in the UK for more than 25 years. He is also qualified to practice law in Australia and New Zealand. 

Michael is well known for his work in the technology, data breach/data privacy, software licensing and media areas.

Technology work includes multiple large, project-based disputes for global technology providers and work for financial institutions and other corporate clients on the customer or ‘buy’ side.

Other work includes cyber investigations, advisory work in relation to online liability and compliance issues, dispute resolution and litigation work for app developers, internet businesses and platforms, telecommunications companies, and public sector bodies.

Michael has handled several technology matters in the entertainment industry and represented individuals facing claims and reputational issues in the media sector.

Other experience includes life sciences, licensing, sports, infrastructure (e.g., construction and electricity), and litigation funding.

He is also a qualified mediator and co-wrote the SCL Adjudication Scheme for technology disputes. Michael is immediate past-Chair of the ITechLaw global Dispute Resolution Committee and past Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
