Alexandria is an Australian-qualified construction disputes lawyer with experience advising principals, contractors and subcontractors on complex matters arising out of major infrastructure projects and large-scale residential developments. Her experience spans across all aspects of dispute resolution including domestic and international arbitration, civil litigation, adjudication and general project delivery advice.

Experience

Experience includes:

  • Acted for a consortium in international arbitration proceedings in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding a desalination plant, and assisted with project delivery advice. The amount in dispute was ~$71M (USD).
  • Acted for a joint venture in international arbitration proceedings based in Qatar concerning contractual interpretation issues relating to payment disputes valued at QAR 95M (~$41M AUD).
  • Acted for a major developer in three concurrent Supreme Court proceedings regarding the landmark ‘Opal Tower’ case. The publicised dispute led to legislative reform including the imposition of a new duty of care for building practitioners when constructing residential buildings. The claim was over $400M (AUD).
  • Acted for an international contractor against state government in domestic arbitration proceedings concerning a major rail infrastructure project. Amount in dispute was circa $200M (AUD) with 1,300 days of delay.
  • Advised a design & construct contractor on various project delivery issues regarding social housing development, valued at a $300M (AUD)
