James advises on major technology and outsourcing projects. He acts across a range of sectors, with considerable strength in retail and consumer, financial services, industrials and energy.

He acts for clients ranging from FTSE100 businesses to equivalent privately owned multi-national organisations procuring business critical technology systems and services and outsourcing major business operations. His experience spans a broad range of projects from leading on £1bn+ technology transformation programmes to advising on SaaS licensing and implications.

Experience
  • Advising ASDA on its major technology transformation programme to affect the separation away from Walmart's technology estate onto its own standalone technology stack;
  • Advising HSBC on the development and licensing arrangements for an investment risk management platform for use by business units with AUMs in excess of $700bn;
  • Advising a FTSE100 manufacturing business on the outsourcing of three major elements of its global logistics operation to Ceva and Kuehne and Nagel in a deal valued in excess of £750m;
  • Advising a major, internationally recognised, sporting league on the development and licensing of cutting edge live video streaming services, amongst other functionality, for the first time allowed supporters to watch live streamed matches on mobile and desktop devices;
  • Advising a FTSE100 "big six" energy provider on the outsourcing of a major customer facing contact centre to Sitel.
