Update: Temporary extension of self-certification for SSP ends
The temporary measures allowing employees to self-certify for Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) for up to 28 days has ended. From 27 January 2022, employees will once again need to provide a fit note after 7 days of sickness to be able to claim SSP from their employer. The measures were introduced temporarily to free up GP capacity to help the booster vaccination programme.
