Laura sits in the Commercial Litigation team, specialising in policyholder coverage disputes for major national and multinational policyholders. Laura has experience in arbitration and Court proceedings, with a particular specialism in international Bermuda Form arbitration. Laura also regularly advises in relation to non-contentious insurance and risk management issues.

Laura's recent experience includes:

  • Acting for a FTSE 100 global pharmaceutical manufacturer in a US$100m Bermuda Form arbitration (English seat, New York law) against a product liability insurer for sums paid in settlement of third-party claims arising from alleged illness and injuries allegedly resulting from use of one of its products.
  • Advising a multinational corporation in relation to its information reporting obligations and potential available coverage under Directors’ & Officers’ and Fidelity insurance programmes in connection with allegations of wrongful acts in more than 50 jurisdictions, including China.
  • Acting for a wealth management company in the monitoring of offshore litigation, and a related Commercial Court action against civil liability insurers in which the Court of Appeal determined a critical point of principle regarding the scope of an insurer's subrogation rights.
