Expertise

Nat has experience of advising on a range of public procurement exercises under the Procurement Act 2023 including drafting and reviewing procurement documents, assisting during procurement processes, and reviewing contract award documents and finalising contracts. She also advises on modifying public contracts during their term and provides advice on procurement challenges. 

In addition, Nat is experienced in providing advice on State aid / subsidy control including compliance with the Subsidy Control Act 2022. This has included reviewing and advising on funding applications, use of grant funding and grant agreements.

Recent experience includes:

  • Procurement advice to United Utilities on replacement of the 109km drinking water pipeline from Haweswater Aqueduct using Direct Procurement for Customers (DPC), a new model of project finance based on PFI/PPP principles.
  • Procurement advice to National Grid on three different procurement events as part of investing in its high-voltage electricity network. This included advice on procurement strategy, drafting procurement documents and providing advice throughout the procurement process.
