The European Commission revises the financial thresholds for application of the EU procurement directives (and UK procurement regulations) every two years. It has published the new (slightly increased) thresholds that will apply from 1 January 2018.


The new thresholds are:

Public Contracts Directive/Public Contracts Regulations 2015

Supply and services contracts and design contests (central government authorities):
€144,000 / £118,133

Supply and services contracts and design contests (sub-central authorities) and subsidised services contracts:
€221,000 / £181,302

Works contracts and subsidised works contracts:
€5,548,000 / £4,551,413

Contracts for social and other specified services (only the corresponding UK threshold has changed):
€750,000 / £615,278

Utilities Contracts Directive/Utilities Contracts Regulations 2016

Supply and services contracts and design contests:
€443,000 / £363,424

Works contracts:
€5,548,000 / £4,551,413

Contracts for social and other specified services (only the corresponding UK threshold has changed):
€1,000,000 / £820,370

Concession Contracts Directive/Concession Contracts Regulations 2016

Works and services concession contracts:
