Expertise
Richard Ledain Santiago is our Luxembourg office managing partner, currently heading the corporate, banking and finance practices.
As a specialist in corporate and financial law, he advises a broad range of asset managers, banking institutions, insurance/reinsurance companies, multinational corporates and private wealth clients on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, structuring of international transactions, reorganisations, refinancings, capital market matters and general corporate finance. He also has significant expertise in aircraft-related and real estate matters, cross-border financings, securitization, structuring and restructuring, including in distressed situations.
Richard has over 20 years' experience in these areas working for international law firms in Paris and Luxembourg. He holds a Ph.D. in private law, a masters in finance and accounting and is a tri-registered solicitor (England & Wales, Luxembourg and Paris).
He has lectured at the universities of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and Aix-Marseille on air law and aircraft finance, as well as at Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne and Paris-Saclay on corporate, warranties and bankruptcy law, and regularly publishes articles on these topics.
