Addleshaw Goddard advises Alantra on the structuring of a secondaries fund and the acquisition from Shell Ventures of a €120 million portfolio of investments
Addleshaw Goddard has advised Alantra on the acquisition from Shell Ventures of a portfolio of energy transition-focused investments through the structuring of its new fund, Horizon Secondaries, which marks the launch of the firm's new strategy focused on the secondary market.
The transaction, valued at €120 million, gives Alantra an equity interest in a portfolio of innovative growth-stage companies with operations across North America, Europe and Asia. These companies are active in sectors including sustainable mobility, low-carbon technologies, electrification, digitalisation and emissions management.
The fund is backed by CommonWealth Investments as anchor investor, alongside a number of international institutional investors, including Blue Earth Capital.
The Addleshaw Goddard team advising on the transaction comprised Roberto Pomares, Victoria Ruenes, Lucas Sánchez and Jaime Enguita from the Corporate department, together with Isabel Rodríguez, Enrique Torné and Irene Díaz from the Funds department.
