Addleshaw Goddard ranked 2nd most innovative law firm in Europe
International law firm Addleshaw Goddard (AG) has been ranked the second most innovative law firm in Europe at the prestigious FT Innovative Lawyers Europe Awards, leaping six places from eigth in 2025.
The FT’s law firm index of 50 leading firms is based on an assessment of each firm’s performance and progress across innovation, digital, people and social responsibility. AG has consistently been ranked in the Top 10 for the past seven years.
Addleshaw Goddard also won the award for Innovation in AI, Digital Regulation and Technology for its work unlocking the pricing model for commercial Variable Recurring Payments (cVRPs) in the UK. Working with Tristan Jones KC, AG advised Open Banking Limited (OBL), UK Payments Initiative (UKPI) and the UK payments industry on how to design and secure regulatory comfort for a new payments scheme – unlocking a strategically important payments project that had been stalled by political, regulatory and competition law risk. cVRPs are a core pillar of the UK government’s ambition to create a domestic alternative to Visa, Mastercard and Direct Debit.
Additionally, Addleshaw Goddard was Commended in three categories of the FT Innovative Lawyers Europe Awards spanning digital tools, infrastructure and sustainability, and Elliot White, AG’s Director of Innovation & Legal Technology was recognised in the Legal Intrapreneur category.
