Expertise
Kemi advises both private equity sponsors and institutional investors on a broad range of strategic transactions. Her practice involves representing sponsors in the formation, structuring and operation of domestic and international investment funds ranging from first-time fund managers to well-established investment platforms across major strategies including private equity, infrastructure, real estate, credit and ‘fund of funds’. Furthermore, Kemi has extensive experience in secondaries and other liquidity solutions transactions across multiple jurisdictions, including GP-led secondary transactions, large scale portfolio sales and acquisitions by established secondaries managers and the formation of continuation funds (both single and multi-asset vehicles). Kemi also advises LP clients on their investments into private investment funds.
Prior to joining Addleshaw Goddard, Kemi spent five and half years at a leading U.S. law firm.
- Experience
- Advised institutional US fund manager in relation to the establishment of its thirteenth fund raise, closing at over $12bn.
- Advised a UK based asset manager in relation to the management buyout of a UK publicly listed company.
- Advised an African fund manager in respect of its flagship agribusiness focussed fund closing at $200m.
- Advised a U.S. fund manager on various co-investment structures with its strategic investors in a range of portfolio companies in the tech space.
- Acted for CVC Secondary Partners (formerly Glendower Capital) on a range of portfolio acquisitions of LP interests in various funds across numerous fund managers covering multiple sector classes.
