Addleshaw Goddard has advised Ted Baker on two high-level Asia deals – a joint venture in Hong Kong and an exclusive retail partnership in Japan. The deals mark a significant step in Ted Baker's Asia strategy

The joint venture will see partner Shanghai Longshang manage Ted Baker’s retail and online channels in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau. With Shanghai Longshang's expertise, Ted Baker aims to grow the number of stores and further invest in online retail capabilities, marking a significant step up in the brands growth in these potentially large markets.

The Japanese exclusive license partnership, sees Sojitz Infinity become Ted Baker's exclusive partner in Japan for an initial period of five years, boosting the fashion retailer's efforts to expand its network and online presence in the country. This means Ted Baker's existing directly-operated business will convert into an exclusive retail licence for the Japanese market – bringing the number of retail licence partners globally to 17.

The AG teams were led by Georgina Powling and Sam Yazdani and included Andrew Yang, Andana Streng, Chris Keane, James Tatro and Andrew Rosling
