He is a digital regulation specialist with deep experience advising businesses on data protection and privacy compliance, security and incident response, and technology transactions. Neil’s practice is focused on clients in the financial services, technology and life sciences sectors.

Neil’s experience includes advising:
- on the full range of data protection compliance issues in the UK and internationally, including contracting strategies, digital marketing approaches, cross-border transfer arrangements, adoption of AI and other emerging technologies, risk assessments, and complex data subject access requests
- a number of major businesses across sectors on the management of data security incidents, including notifications to regulatory authorities and post-incident remediation activity
- major data centre service providers on compliance with emerging security legislation and in connection with international expansion projects
- for financial services businesses, on the development and launch of innovative digital products and services and the data protection compliance aspects of regulatory change projects
- on the negotiation of strategic referral and partnership arrangements involving major banking and technology companies, including on complex data sharing arrangements
Since qualifying as a solicitor, Neil has spent extended periods on secondment to financial services and telecoms businesses.
