Sam joined the team in 2020 and specialises in both transactional and contentious restructuring work. Sam advises turnaround investors, banks, insolvency practitioners, companies and directors on all aspects of restructuring, turnaround and insolvency.
- Experience
- Acting for various clients including the HLD Group and Svella PLC on the acquisition of distressed businesses either through accelerated M&A, solvent sales or insolvent pre-pack acquisitions.
- Acting for insolvency practitioners including Teneo, Interpath, EY, A&M, Kroll, Leonard Curtis, Mazars and Moorfields on pre-pack or post-appointment sales of insolvent businesses and their assets.
- Acting for Kroll Advisory as former administrators and current liquidators of 25 companies in the Northern Powerhouse Developments Group.
- Advising major clearing banks, secondary and asset-based funders on the validity of their security packages, identifying gaps and providing advice on how to remedy issues or improve their position.
- Acting for the trustees in bankruptcy of the former directors of the Arena Group following summary judgment being granted them against them for minimum sums in excess of £200m in respect of a hire purchase/fresh air invoicing fraud.
