  • Leading support for several UK central government departments procuring ERP solutions (Finance, HR and payroll), often Competitive Dialogue with negotiation projects for a cloud based solution.  Michael’s long-standing experience of dealing with Tier 1 suppliers and managing major IT procurement projects make him a real asset to clients on these often challenging projects.
  • Leading many major IT procurement projects for various major UK central government departments with strategic software licensing and related technology law advice. He is familiar with the various CCS ICT Model Contracts that have evolved over the years and supported the testing of the last model contract template.  He also often advises on the use of frameworks and has advised CCS on the establishment several of the main IT related ones.
  • Supporting a range of major financial services clients from global insurers and challenger banks to the UK’s leading Building Societies and TPA (third party administration) providers, with major technology procurement and advisory projects including pensions administration and the applicable UK FS regulatory framework applicable to such deals.  These deals sometimes have an international dimension.
  • Handling innovative technology deals, for example 5G telecoms roll-out projects for leading suppliers and complex multi-party CRM and contactless ticketing solutions for 2 of the UK’s largest Passenger Transport Executives.
  • Supporting health providers and agencies with a range of MedTech/HealthTech work. 
Recognition
  • Michael is a recognised figure in the technology law arena with top listings in the legal directories for at least the last 15 years. Michael is recognised by Chambers and Partners as a “Band 1 Partner” and by Legal 500 as in the Hall of Fame for IT Law.  Michael was recently President of the International Technology Law Association (ITechLaw).
