Nasser is a founder of Nasser Al Habsi & Saif Al Mamari Law Firm, which operates in association with Addleshaw Goddard (Middle East) LLP in Oman.
He is an expert in Omani corporate and commercial law and is able to advise clients in both Arabic and English. He was one of the first students to graduate in commercial law from Sultan Qaboos University and he has also achieved a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Reading, specialising in international commercial law. Nasser has also worked in the corporate team in our London office.
Nasser has been involved in a wide range of banking transactions in Oman (including both conventional and Islamic finance transactions). He was involved in the merger of HSBC Oman and the establishment of Bank Nizwa, the first Islamic bank in Oman. Nasser has also advised clients on major power and water projects in Oman, which has seen him act for a consortium of developers led by Marubeni in the Sur Independent Power Project. He has also advised on major commercial projects, including acting for the Blue City Project, negotiating documents for the sale of various properties within a property portfolio.
Nasser has broad experience in doing business in Oman and dealing with different authorities in Oman including the Ministry of Commerce, the Capital Market Authority and the Tender Board.
