Addleshaw Goddard strengthens international arbitration offering with new cross-border leadership team
Addleshaw Goddard (AG) has strengthened its international arbitration offering through the launch of a cross-border leadership team, bringing together arbitration specialists across the firm’s key hubs to deliver an integrated service for clients facing complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes.
The group will be led by partners Dr. Ioana Knoll-Tudor, Jon Tweedale and Prof. Dr. Markus Perkams, based in Paris, London and Munich, respectively. The move is designed to continue to promote and embed a ‘one team working from an international platform’ ethos.
The launch reflects the firm’s continued international expansion under its AG2030 strategy and increasing client demand for seamless, cross-border support in areas such as commercial, construction and investment treaty arbitration, as well as enforcement and litigation support. The revised and strengthened new International Arbitration Group meets this demand by bringing together teams across Europe, the Middle East and Asia, drawing on the firm’s established presence in leading arbitration centres such as London, Paris, Singapore and Dubai.
Jon Tweedale, co-head of AG’s International Arbitration Group, said:
‘Our international platform has grown significantly in recent years. Now, with 21 offices worldwide and teams on the ground in key markets, we need an expanded leadership team to co-ordinate and manage our delivery of advice and representation in those markets. It is critical that we have a diverse leadership team which has a deep knowledge of different legal traditions and cultures and the nuances of ‘local’ practice and procedure. I am therefore delighted that the new leadership team will benefit from the very substantial experience of Ioana (a current member of the ICC Court and Board Member of the SCC Arbitration Institute) and Markus (who, as well as being a full time practitioner, acts as an academic advisor to the International Investment Law Center Cologne).’
Ioana Knoll-Tudor, co-head of AG’s International Arbitration Group, added:
‘This is about scaling what we already do well and competing more consistently at the top end of the market. We have strong cross-border credentials and a growing international platform - this team brings that together to strengthen our position in an increasingly competitive global arbitration market, while building a practice recognised globally.’
