Addleshaw Goddard advises independent sponsor Broadfield Capital on maiden investment
International law firm Addleshaw Goddard has advised newly founded independent sponsor firm Broadfield Capital on its investment into Emtec Climate Solutions Ltd, a leading provider of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning) service and maintenance based in Warrington. This is Broadfield Capital's first investment.
Emtec, led by CEO Mark Rigby, specialises in delivering service and maintenance of air conditioning, chillers, refrigeration and ventilation in critical infrastructure such as schools, hospitals, data centres and public buildings. Broadfield Capital’s investment will support Emtec to drive growth both organically and via a buy-and-build strategy to broaden its service offering to existing customers and expand across the UK.
Broadfield Capital was founded in 2025 by Managing Partner, Guy Ellis, following his successful tenure at Rockpool Investments, where he established a strong track record by deploying over £50 million into the UK lower mid-market. Broadfield’s maiden investment was backed by a fundraise that was more than four times oversubscribed, attracting commitments from institutions, family offices, and high net worth investors across the US and Europe.
AG advised Broadfield on the capital raising and structuring elements of the transaction, fielding a team led by private capital partner Jan Gruter, supported by legal director Jagdip Gujral and associate Simon Lewin. Tax support was provided by partner Zoe Fatchen.
