EXPERTISE 

Rachael specialises in providing environmental compliance advice to corporate clients and has experience of advising on a full range of environmental issues including contamination liabilities, waste, permitting, chemicals regulation and producer responsibility. Rachael also routinely provides support to the Corporate and Real Estate groups undertaking environmental due diligence on transactions and advising on the allocation of environmental risk and liabilities. Rachael also has experience of providing specialist training both internally and to clients.

Recent experience includes:

  • Advising a water company in relation to allegations of permit breaches across several sites, including advising the client on the interpretation of storm discharge permit conditions and communications with the Environment Agency.
  • Acting for a bank on the successful appeal of a noise abatement notice served under the Environmental Protection Act 1990. 
  • Coordinating multi-jurisdictional advice for a global manufacturing client on the qualification criteria for group companies required to undertake energy audits under the Energy Efficiency Directive.
  • Advising a global packaging solutions manufacturer on the Transfrontier Shipment of Waste Regulations.
  • Advising an international manufacturer on the applicability of the RoHS Regulations and the impact of the regulations on its products at different stages of the supply chain.
  • Advising on and drafting bespoke green lease provisions.
