He supports clients at Inquests connected to the provision of care, including on a death alleged to be associated with Artificial Nutrition, and on deaths connected to health issues, such as deaths from a rare waterborne bacterium which arose in a hospital setting.
He provides advice on compliance with safeguarding in the context of vulnerable patients.
Adrian also advises on broader health and safety and fire safety matters in the health sector, including on cladding, compartmentation and RAAC concerns - where he has advised hospitals on addressing RAAC and has responded to an investigation by local fire authorities following a major fire at a care home.
Adrian also advises senior management on potential exposure to breach of regulatory regimes and the wider commercial and criminal consequences of regulatory issues.
- Experience
- Acting for a Distribution Network Operator in relation to a fatal accident investigation leading to acquittal of the principal offence;
- Representing a director charged with seven offences under PUWER and COSHH, all charges were dropped shortly before trial;
- Acting for a global construction company in response to a prosecution for multiple historic Hand Arm Vibration breaches;
- Advising on EU wide actions to be taken in respect of goods which breached the RoHS regime due to the presence of excessive quantities of a heavy metal; and
- Advising a globally renowned insurance and investment company on the liabilities created relating to its Funds by the Building Safety Act 2022.
