Representative recent experience includes: 

• Advising LGPS pooled funds on investments into funds including infrastructure funds, private credit and private debt funds; including drafting and negotiating side letters and assisting with the completion of subscription agreements
• Advising an employer on its life insurance arrangements including drafting replacement documentation
• Advising trustees in respect of overseas transfers under the Pension Schemes Act 2021
• Advising trustees on the distributions of a lump sum death benefit where there were a number of minor beneficiaries, some living overseas
• Responding to a variety of queries from trustees including on the interpretation of their pension increase rules and eligibility for ill health pension
• Advising on pensions aspects of share and business acquisitions including where employees have previously transferred to the target company under Fair Deal
• Advising on acquisitions where the purchaser will acquire companies participating in public sector schemes or will itself be required to participate following a TUPE transfer
