Ibrahim is a banking and finance attorney with focus on asset-based lending, banking and debt finance matters.
Prior to joining AG, Ibrahim was a senior associate at a leading Nigerian law firm where he advised domestic and international banks, development finance institutions, alternative lenders, corporate borrowers and government corporations on domestic and cross-border corporate and project finance transactions across various sectors including real estate, oil & gas, manufacturing and international trade. Ibrahim is also a Certified Islamic Finance Executive (obtained from Ethica Institute of Islamic Finance, Dubai, UAE); and participates in Islamic finance transactions.
Ibrahim's recent transactional experience includes:
- advised syndicate of international banks in respect of a EUR200,000,000 borrowing base facility to a leading car manufacturing business (based in the UK, US, Australia, France and Germany) to support its working capital requirements.
- advised a multinational business engaged in production of branded sporting wears based in UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Australia, and US in respect of a c.US$20million receivables finance facility provided by a US based ABL lender.
- Bilateral supply chain/trade finance (c.US$105million) provided by club of lenders – including banks based in the UK, South Africa, Mauritius, and Zimbabwe (including risk participation in the facilities), as well as subsequent refinancing and restructuring of the facilities.
- advised a UK based asset based lender in respect of a £14,000,000 receivables finance facility provided to a marketing services/creative branding group.
- the restructuring of a £22,000,000 receivables finance facilities provided by an asset based lender to a UK based transport/international logistics business group.
- advised an international factoring business in connection with the UK aspects of a EUR120,000,000 factoring facilities provided to an international manufacturing group.
- advised a receivables lender in connection with certain receivables purchase and term loan facilities being provided to a technology recruitment agency based in the UK, US and Germany.
