Expertise

Ann is a versatile and pragmatic corporate lawyer with extensive experience of advising on private M&A, fund-raising transactions and joint ventures.  Most of her work has been of a cross-border nature, and she has a particular interest in the Nordic region, having supported a number of Scandinavian and Icelandic clients on their outbound ventures in the UK and further afield.   She has also completed many tech-focused transactions for VC and PE clients and has a keen interest in supporting entrepreneur-led businesses.  She also has experience of working in-house at Ocado Group PLC.

Ann's recent work includes:

• acting for Bergs Timber AB, a listed Swedish timber company, acquiring a premium wood products sales and distribution network in the UK, enabling it to capture more of the value chain in a sector that has seen significantly increased demand and margins; 
• advising Greencloud, a cloud computing software solutions company, on the sale of its business (which included the successful Qstack cloud management system) to Nasdaq-listed Netapp Inc;
• advising The Lost Explorer Mezcal, an ultra-premium drinks business on its establishment and initial funding round;  
• advising Tails Cocktails, a premium pre-batched cocktail brand, on the sale of the business to Bacardi International, driving innovation within the Bacardi business;
• advising the founder of Italicus, a premium drinks brand, on the investment into the business by Pernod Ricard, together with new distribution and supply arrangements; 
• advising a portfolio company of Nordic Capital in the oil and gas service sector on further financing required as a result of the COVID pandemic and negotiations with senior lenders;  
• assisting Accent Equity, a Swedish PE fund, and waste compactor manufacturer Orwak AB, acquiring a UK business in the recycling products sector, enhancing Orwak's market presence in the UK; 
• advising on an EUR8bn acquisition of a listed Icelandic pharmaceutical company (this was the first ever take private in Iceland, 2007)
