Expertise

Ash’s areas of expertise are asset finance (acting for lessors, lessees and lenders) and project finance (advising sponsors, commercial lenders and governmental/multi-lateral agencies on some landmark projects in Asia). His experience also covers trade finance and general banking.  

Asheesh specialises in the financing of aircraft, but has considerable experience in relation to the financing and leasing of a wide variety of mobile assets, such as power equipment, vehicles and rolling stock. 

Asheesh has worked on the development and financing of various infrastructure ranging from toll roads and ports to oil and gas power generation and renewables.

On more general financing, Ash has advised on receivables financing, secured and unsecured corporate loans, Islamic financing and real estate finance (UK).

Asheesh's experience includes:

Asset Finance

  • Advising a mixed international and local syndicate of banks on a $2.5 billion unsecured revolving credit facility for a middle eastern flag carrier airline.
  • Advising a GCC flag carrier in relation to all of its major aircraft and aircraft engine acquisition and maintenance contracts, as well as a large number of aircraft financing transactions over the past 3 years, including secured and unsecured Islamic financing and pre-delivery payment financing.
  • Advising numerous Asian low-cost airlines and flag carriers (including Air Asia, Lion Air, Cathay Pacific, Malaysian Airlines, Royal Brunei, Vietnam Airlines and Singapore Airlines) in relation to the financing and leasing of aircraft as well as their aircraft and aircraft engine purchase and maintenance contracts.

Infrastructure and Project Finance

  • Advising Stolthaven (part of the Stolt Nielsen group) in relation to a JV to develop and finance a bulk storage terminal and deep draft jetty in Jurong, Singapore (value circa S$1 billion).
