Expertise

May is a Managing Associate in the Finance practice. She has extensive experience in advising financial institutions, private credit funds, bank syndicates and companies on a wide range of domestic and cross-border financing transactions, including general corporate finance, acquisition and leveraged finance as well as project and infrastructure finance matters.

May has also had the benefit of a corporate secondment in New York and a client secondment at a PRC state-owned bank in Hong Kong, each with previous firms. She is admitted to practice as a solicitor in both England and Wales, and Hong Kong.  

Experience
  • Advising an infrastructure investment fund as borrower in respect of a new money financing to refinance existing debt and to maintain its railway projects, with security over its receivables generated from its existing project revenue streams.
  • Advising an Australian oil and gas company as borrower in respect of a bridge facility and a reserves-based lending facility with a bank syndicate (and its subsequent refinancing).
  • Advising Lloyds Bank plc as senior lender in respect of a new money mezzanine financing to a company providing coworking office spaces to partially repay the senior debt.
  • Advising a Korean fund manager on its debt and equity investments into a UK green generating power station.
  • Advising an Asian fund providing senior secured debt facilities to high-net-worth individuals secured against real estate assets in Vancouver and Hong Kong with real estate and holdco security structured to comply with British Columbia laws (and its subsequent refinancing).
