Expertise

Alberto is Counsel in the Energy team at AG's Madrid office. His practice is focused on corporate and regulatory law. His main area of specialisation is energy, in particular renewables and gas, but he also advises on other regulated sectors such as water and environment. In the last few years, he has advised some of the leading operators of the energy Iberian market as well as several international investors (including foreign utilities and E&I funds).

Alberto combines his practice in regulated sectors (public contracts, project development, and regulatory issues) with wide-ranging expertise in corporate and commercial law, including M&A, corporate restructuring, joint ventures agreements, shareholders' agreements, due diligence processes, which allows him to approach matters from a transactional and non-transactional perspective.

Some of the clients he has advised include, among others, EDP Group, EKZ, MAPFRE, Galp, and Mytilineos.

  • Advice to Mapfre Energías Renovables I, F.C.R. in relation to the acquisition from Iberdrola of several wind farms in Spain.
  • Advice to EDP Renováveis (EDPR), on the sale of several wind portfolios in Spain.
  • Advice to Galp on the cross-border acquisition from Cobra of Zero-E, the solar photovoltaic business of the listed company ACS in Spain, with a total capacity of 2.9 GW, including operative plants (900 MW) and projects under development (2,000 MW).
  • Advice to Finerge on the acquisition of 100% of Martifer Renovables, owner of six operative PV solar farms.
  • Advice to EKZ on the acquisition of several PV projects in Spain.
  • Advice to EDP Group on the acquisition of LPG gas assets in the north of Spain (Basque Country, Cantabria, and Asturias region), from global energy company Repsol.
  • Advice to DWS on its investments in Saggas and BBG.
