Andrew Johnston, Managing Partner of Addleshaw Goddard, comments:
“This has been a year where we have built on the firm’s strong momentum. We have delivered impressive headline growth by strengthening our client relationships, taking increased market share and winning clients in new and existing markets.
“Every part of our business has taken a step forward with strong performances right across all of our sectors and markets. Financial Services and Real Estate made a particularly significant contribution, alongside rapid expansion in sectors such as Energy & Utilities, Industrial & Advanced Manufacturing and Technology.
“Pleasingly there have been strong contributions from our offices outside the UK, as our European and Middle East platforms mature. We have also been very happy with the successful launch of our new offices in Warsaw and Abu Dhabi.
“We have continued to invest significantly in offices, people and technology across key markets to better service our clients. At the same time, we have further strengthened our balance sheet. This has been achieved against the backdrop of more than one third of our people moving office this year, through the relocation to flagship headquarters in London and moves in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Riyadh, enhancing our client and employee experience.
“The firm has increased the number of partners and people, enhancing our expertise in areas such as cyber security, technology and transition finance in order to meet client demand. So that we continue to retain and attract the right talent across the business, we have stretched the top of our partner equity ladder. We have also increased our staff bonus pot by 16% to £22m to meaningfully reward colleagues who are making the most material contributions. We also continue to focus on investing in the salaries of experienced associates to release compression between grades.
“Tomorrow (1 July) we open for business in Amsterdam, our 22nd office, with the integration of Florent, a leading Amsterdam-based law firm. This is a key market for many of our clients and another significant milestone in our AG2030 international expansion strategy. We are well-positioned for the future and confident about the year ahead as we keep the needs of our clients at the heart of everything we do.”
