Addleshaw Goddard's leading Private Equity team has advised Phoenix Private Equity on the sale of Key Retirement Group, a leading independent provider of specialist financial products for retirees, to funds managed and/or advised by Partners Group, the global private markets investment manager.


The £208m buyout which represents a 4.5x return for Phoenix, also delivered an exit for the founders of the business and a transition to the management team who formed part of the succession plan.

The deal will enable Preston-based, Key Retirement to accelerate its strategic growth plans.

The AG team included Private Equity Partners Paul Medlicott, Yunus Seedat and Andy Green along with Tina Wong, Kasim Hussain, Josie Marsden, Rachael Norris, Martin O'Shea, Ben Edwards, Justine Delroy, Catherine Concannon, Rosanna Bryant and Matt Collins.
