Expertise

Gavin has over 18 years' experience advising clients in the energy sector in Ireland, in the fields of wind, solar PV, bioenergy, energy storage, grid support services, demand side management, thermal generation and CHP. Gavin works with developers, funders and investors from the preliminary site acquisition and consenting phase through to project finance and construction. In addition, he has acted in the purchase and sale of both development stage and operational stage renewable energy assets with a combined capacity in excess of 2 gigawatts.

Recent experience includes advising:

ILOS Energy on the acquisition of 100% ownership interests in what will be two of Ireland’s largest ground mounted solar PV projects.
Greengate Biogas on the development of a portfolio of Irish anaerobic digestion / biogas facilities.
A multinational alcoholic beverage company on a procurement process to source green power for its Irish production facilities via Corporate PPA.
A battery storage developer on the sale of majority equity interests in a pipeline of development stage BESS projects to a private equity investor.
A prominent Irish developer of energy projects on the sale of a development stage gas peaking power plant to an international utility.
