Robin is a partner in our Dutch banking practice. He has built a strong reputation as a trusted advisor to financiers, corporates and investors in complex finance transactions. He combines extensive experience at international and Dutch law firms with hands-on in-house restructuring experience at ABN AMRO Bank. In 2021, he co-founded a specialist boutique law firm focused on finance and financial regulation.
Robin has extensive expertise in real estate, acquisition, and working capital finance. In addition, he regularly supports companies and their financiers facing financial headwinds, advising them on financial restructurings and turnaround situations.
- Experience
- Advising VSDE on a refinancing of its real estate portfolio, consisting of office buildings and nursing homes, by Hypo Noe Landesbank Für Niederösterreich und Wien AG (Hypo Noe).
- Advising ER Capital N.V., a publicly listed company, on a financing provided by Prime Capital to acquire a large-scale multi-tenant office complex directly next to football stadium “De Geusselt” of MVV in Maastricht.
- Acting for Metroprop B.V. (a Dutch real estate portfolio company) and certain of its subsidiaries in connection with (i) a senior secured financing of more than EUR 150 million arranged by Aukera Real Estate AF and (ii) a financing of EUR 63 million arranged by Berlin Hyp.
- Assisting Komen Real Estate with its EUR 25 million refinancing of a real estate portfolio by Oldenburgische Landesbank Aktiengesellschaft (OLB) The portfolio consists of 7 assets with a total GLA of 36,000m2 and includes 5 supermarkets, a distribution facility and a big-box DIY retail center.
- Assisting Big Ass Battery with its financial restructuring including the conversion of notes (held by >50 noteholders) to equity.

Robin studied at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, in the Netherlands. Robin holds master’s degrees in international business and in Dutch law and obtained a post-graduate degree (Grotius) ‘Finance & Security’ in 2010
