Expertise

Paul is a senior and experienced commercial litigator, having advised on a range of contentious disputes over the past 15 years. These include disputes relating to contracts, the supply of goods & services, warranty claims, procurement, professional negligence, pensions and tax claims. He acts for a number of AG's corporate clients, across all of the firm's key sector areas, but particularly for those operating in the "public arena" including local authorities, public transport and infrastructure providers, NHS trusts and Government agencies.

As an expert public law and procurement litigation practitioner, Paul acts for and defends clients in judicial review and public procurement challenges. He has particular expertise in advising on consultation duties and minimising the risk of judicial review challenge. Paul also advises clients on data protection and Freedom of Information issues in a contentious context. This includes responding to and managing FOIA and subject access requests within or as a precursor to litigation.

Most of the time, his work involves advising clients on commercial approaches to take in resolving, anticipating or avoiding disputes.

Paul is experienced in mediation and pursuing claims in overseas jurisdictions.
