Amy is a Managing Associate in the Tax Disputes and Investigations team. She is a qualified solicitor and Chartered Tax Adviser.

Amy acts for both corporate clients and high net worth individuals, nationally and internationally, and has experience in a wide range of taxes, including VAT, pensions taxation, income tax, CGT, SDLT and residency/domicile. She represents clients at all stages of their tax affairs, from advising on tax planning to assisting with HMRC investigations, settlements and litigation.

Experience

Amy’s recent experience includes advising:

Advising various UHNWI on HMRC’s enquiries into their UK residency positions.
Acting for the wholly owned distribution arm of a multi-national retailer in relation to HMRC’s investigation into its engagement of off-payroll drivers.
Advising a leading supplier of patient transport services to the NHS in respect of a successful appeal to the First Tier Tax Tribunal concerning the VAT treatment of patient transport services to customers, including multiple NHS Trusts.
Acting for a US financial services firm in relation to an appeal to the Court of Appeal regarding VAT invoices and the right to deduct.
Acting for an independent pensions trustee company in relation to a First Tier Tax Tribunal appeal regarding the taxation of pension liberation arrangements.
