Amy is a Managing Associate in the Tax Disputes and Investigations team. She is a qualified solicitor and Chartered Tax Adviser. 

Amy acts for both corporate clients and high net worth individuals, nationally and internationally, and has experience in a wide range of taxes, including VAT, pensions taxation, income tax, CGT, SDLT and residency/domicile. She represents clients at all stages of their tax affairs, from advising on tax planning to assisting with HMRC investigations, settlements and litigation.

Experience

Amy’s recent experience includes advising:

  • Advising various UHNWI on HMRC’s enquiries into their UK residency positions. 
  • Acting for the wholly owned distribution arm of a multi-national retailer in relation to HMRC’s investigation into its engagement of off-payroll drivers.
  • Advising a leading supplier of patient transport services to the NHS in respect of a successful appeal to the First Tier Tax Tribunal concerning the VAT treatment of patient transport services to customers, including multiple NHS Trusts.
  • Acting for a US financial services firm in relation to an appeal to the Court of Appeal regarding VAT invoices and the right to deduct.
  • Acting for an independent pensions trustee company in relation to a First Tier Tax Tribunal appeal regarding the taxation of pension liberation arrangements.
