Expertise

Hannah Quarterman is a partner in Addleshaw Goddard’s Planning and Infrastructure Consenting Team specialising in mixed use regeneration projects, and has been involved in many of London’s most noteworthy schemes in recent years. She also advises on a range of specialist areas such as compulsory purchase orders, heritage issues and matters relating to community infrastructure levy.  She is fully immersed in the development industry, being a member of the BPF Planning Committee and the Law Society Planning and Environment Committee. 

Experience

Hannah’s experience includes: 

  • Advising Berkeley Homes (Central) Limited on its planning strategy and s106 agreements for linked planning permissions at West End Gate and the former Paddington Green Police Station, for the single largest housing redevelopment in Westminster including 1,500 market affordable and senior living homes.
  • Advising Related Argent on the transformative regeneration of Brent Cross Town, comprising 6,700 new homes and 3 million plus sqft of office, commercial and leisure space, including leading on planning strategy on this complex, multi-phase development, addressing highways issues and the implementation of compulsory purchase orders, as well as the use if drop-in permissions.
  • Advising a joint venture between Hammerson and Ballymore on its cross-borough redevelopment at Bishopsgate Goodsyard, including advising on application documents, environmental impact assessment strategy, complicated heritage issues and a Mayoral call-in by the GLA.
  • Advising Berkeley Homes (East Thames) Limited on its proposals in Plumstead – West Thamesmead, to deliver over 1,900 homes, as well as employment floorspace, pursuant to a joint venture with Peabody Homes.
  • Advising BentallGreenOak on office development at Regents Wharf, Islington, including both refurbishment of historic buildings and new build development within a conservation area.
  • Advising London Legacy Development Corporation on the redevelopment of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, in particular securing consent for East Bank in the Olympic Park, including a new UCL campus and facilities for the BBC, V&A, Sadlers Wells and the London College of Fashion.
  • Advising Mars Pension Trustees Limited in respect of a petition against HS2, including representations at the Select Committee, and subsequent negotiations to secure enhanced mitigation, as well as compensation advice.
