Eva is an associate in the Environmental and Sustainability team, based at the Manchester office.

She advises on environmental compliance as part of M&A and Real Estate transactions as well as providing standalone environmental advice on wide-ranging and often complex aspects of environmental law, including permitting, energy efficiency obligations and waste management and disposal. She also assists on matters where clients are facing investigation by environmental regulators.

Experience

Eva’s recent experience includes:

  • Advising on the risks and liabilities associated with heavily contaminated sites (including concerning PFAS and TCE).
  • Advising in relation to the environmental aspects of a dispute surrounding waste material and its brokerage and supply between jurisdictions.
  • Carrying out due diligence and advising on the environmental aspects and liabilities in relation to a number of high-value M&A transactions, as well as drafting warranties and indemnities.
  • Advising a high-end food and products retailer on the upcoming European Union Deforestation Regulation in relation to the products which they place on the EU market.
  • Drafting correspondence and notification documents for clients in relation to enforcement action with the Environment Agency, on matters relating to breaches of permitting requirements and obligations under the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS).
  • In relation to the selling of a target company; carrying out the due diligence for and advising on the liabilities and risks associated with its trade effluent discharge arrangements.
  • Pro bono work for a sustainability-education charity by organising and conducting an ongoing internal policy review.
