Ingrid is a highly experienced employment law specialist with a robust track record in establishing and leading employment legal practices and teams. With over 20 years’ experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment law and developing teams and client relationships, Ingrid demonstrates leadership, strategic development, growth and client management skills. 

Ingrid predominantly advises employers and practices in all areas of employment law.  She has significant experience and expertise in wholesale restructuring, redundancies, re-organisations, and TUPE.  She routinely advises clients in respect of unfair dismissal, discrimination, and general employee relation matters (grievances, disciplinaries, absence management and performance) and is valued business partner for those she works with.

Ingrid is regular public speaker and has particular interest in leadership, mentoring, training and development.  She has tutored in employment law at Strathclyde University in the post graduate Diploma in legal practice and often leads training for clients on all aspects of employment law, HR practice and procedure, and management skills.

Experience
  • Strategic business partner and advisor for FTSE100 client – supporting and advising in relation to collective consultation strategy and obligations, business reorganisation and redundancies, dismissal and re-engagement and policy support 
  • Leading employment aspects for acquisition of call centre from international service company, drafting and negotiating indemnities and warranties and other relevant commercial provisions, and supporting with TUPE advice and considerations.
  • Representation and management of employment claims for international business consultancy firm, including unfair dismissal, sex discrimination and pregnancy discrimination.
  • National Account Management and Client relationship partner and representation for FTSE 100 client - claims ranging from unfair dismissal, disability discrimination, sex discrimination, wrongful dismissal and breach of contract
  • Advising UK technology business in respect of the removal and sanction of senior executives/Director, advising in relation to Director’s fiduciary duties, negotiating and drafting requisite undertakings and restrictive covenants and advising on general strategy 
  • Managing Scottish employment tribunal claims for leading international retailer. Claims involved challenges to the retailer’s sickness absence management trigger procedure, sex discrimination, disability discrimination and unfair dismissal
