Expertise

Simon principally focusses on international and domestic asset finance work, structured financings and portfolio acquisitions/disposals, across many asset classes (including rail, shipping, aircraft and industrial plant and machinery). As a finance partner, he has also conducted a range of other general and/or structured finance work from time to time. Simon works for a wide range of clients and on all sides of the table in these transactions – including lender, lessor, lessee, seller, buyer, government and equity investors including for  example  SMBC, Natwest , Socgen, Equitix, the Department of Transport and DCC Welsh Water. 

Experience
  • acting for SMBC and Equitix on the £1 billion procurement and financing of Bombardier trains for Crossrail
  • acting for DfT on the financing of the East Coast phase of the £7 billion Project IEP procurement
  • acting for a European bank on its acquisition of a US$600 million aircraft loan portfolio
  • acting for a bidder on its proposed acquisition of an FPSO portfolio
