Expertise

Alex joined Addleshaw Goddard in July 2015, having previously trained in London at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP and been an associate in its Employment, Pensions and Benefits department.  Alex specialises in advising both corporates and trustees on all aspects of pensions law and her background ideally places her to consider pensions in conjunction with employment law issues.

Alex is experienced in advising on pensions issues on a wide range of corporate transactions, including TUPE transfers and restructurings.  Alex particularly enjoys working on highly technical matters such as employer debt and pensions tax.  Her recent general advisory work has included closures to future accrual, a pensioner buy-in, equalisation, consolidations of trust deeds and rules and the abolition of contracting-out.  Alex regularly advises on day-to-day issues involving the interpretation of scheme rules and scheme administration.
