Opeyemi advises sponsors and lenders in the financing of oil and gas, power, and infrastructure assets. She is experienced in negotiating and drafting all aspects of finance documents in connection with international project financings across Africa, Europe, Middle East, and Latin America. Opeyemi is dually qualified to practice in England & Wales and in Nigeria.

  • Advised Spark+ Africa Fund as lender on a carbon credits pre-financing linked to an emissions reduction clean cooking project sponsored by TASC in Zambia.
  • Advised Yilport Holding on the acquisition financing of its acquisition from Africa Finance Corporation of the concessionaire for the expansion of the Takoradi port in Ghana.
  • Advised certain companies in the Yildirim Group in connection with export credit agency (Sinosure) covered loans and loans from commercial Kazakh banks for the development of a soda ash plant in Kazakhstan.
  • Advised Yilport Holding in connection with a $150 million financing provided by DFC and a covered loan provided by export credit agency – Bpifrance for the expansion and modernisation of the Puerto Bolivar container port in Ecuador. 
  • Advised HSBC on the export financing for the development of a 56MW wind power plant and a 35 MW solar hybrid power plant in Türkiye, with cover from Euler Hermes and credit support from KfW under Germany’s ERP Export Financing Programme.
  • Advised a Turkish sponsor on the restructuring of loan facilities used to finance the development and operation of two hydroelectric power plants in Turkiye; financing was provided by the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, ICBC Türkiye Bank A.S. and International Finance Corporation.
