Neil acts for clients across all areas of real estate, ranging from property investment work, through to occupier and developer work. Neil represents a number of property companies who are active in both the investment and development sectors. He has in particular been involved in a number of student housing and mixed use developments in recent years, as well as acting for a highly acquisitive care home operator in acquisitions both north and south of the border. Neil also acts for a number of retailers, including a couple of national restaurant chains.

Neil is also heavily involved in real estate finance work, and maintains relations with most major funders in the real estate finance sector. He has been involved in a number of high-profile property finance deals for Royal Bank of Scotland, HSBC Bank plc, Lloyds Bank, Barclays Bank plc, Santander and Svenska Handelsbanken amongst others.


Recent work includes:

  • Sale of office premises at Blenheim Place, Edinburgh to Chris Stewart Group, price in excess of £5million
  • Sale of multi let/use development in Fort William, price in excess of £6million 
  • Sale of student accommodation in Glasgow, with Tesco retail on ground floor, for price in excess of £8.5million. 
  • Advised in relation to 2 forward funding deals for student accommodation developments in Aberdeen for circa £30 million 
  • Advised on the refinance of a propco for Lloyds Bank plc – 9 properties, £8.5 million lend.
