Addleshaw Goddard strengthens Funds Finance practice with appointment of Nick Pascal

Addleshaw Goddard has strengthened its Funds Finance practice with the appointment of specialist finance lawyer Nick Pascal, who joins the firm’s London partnership from Ashurst Perkins Coie on 5 October 2026.

Nick advises lenders, private funds and other financial institutions on a broad range of funds finance transactions. He also has significant experience advising on lending to insurers and on funds financing transactions in emerging markets, with a particular focus on Africa. He has advised major international banks including HSBC, NatWest, Macquarie and Nomura, as well as private funds and investment clients.

Nick's appointment will deepen Addleshaw Goddard's capabilities across funds finance (with a 4 partner-led dedicated team in London), lending to insurers and cross-border financings involving emerging markets. It will also strengthen the connections between the firm’s Finance, Private Funds and Financial Services practices and its Africa Business Group, enhancing the support it can provide to lenders, funds and insurers on sophisticated international transactions.

Steve Mackie, partner and Head of the Finance & Projects Group at Addleshaw Goddard, said:

"Nick is a strategically important addition to our Finance & Projects Group. His experience across funds finance, lending to insurers and emerging markets deepens our capability in three areas where we see significant client opportunities and strengthens the connections between our Finance, Private Funds and Financial Services practices and our Africa Business Group.

"He brings an international lender and fund-side perspective that will help us support clients on increasingly complex cross-border financings. His appointment reflects our continued investment in specialist capability where it can make a real difference to clients.”

Nick Pascal, partner at Addleshaw Goddard, said:

"Addleshaw Goddard has a strong and growing Funds Finance practice, an impressive financial institutions client base and clear ambitions for its international business. I am very pleased to be joining the firm and look forward to working with Angus Gill and colleagues across its Finance, Private Funds and Financial Services teams, as well as its Africa Business Group, to develop the practice further.

"The opportunity to combine the firm's existing strengths in private funds and financial institutions with its international reach was particularly attractive, and I look forward to helping clients navigate an increasingly sophisticated and international financing market."
