Addleshaw Goddard advises on sale of New Victoria Hospital to Bupa
Addleshaw Goddard has advised The Victoria Foundation on the sale of longstanding client, New Victoria Hospital, to Bupa Healthcare Services. This is Bupa’s first UK hospital acquisition since 2008.
The Addleshaw Goddard team advising on the deal was led by Mark Hallam and Tom Hopwood and included Sophie Ovenden and Anna Gilchrist as well as a wider team.
New Victoria Hospital is a state-of-the-art 33-bed independent private hospital in Kingston upon Thames, specialising in orthopaedics, gynaecology, general surgery and gastroenterology. Addleshaw Goddard has been proud to represent The Victoria Foundation and the New Victoria Hospital for a number of years and is delighted it was entrusted to support them on this important transaction.
Mark Hallam, who led the transaction for Addleshaw Goddard said: “We were happy to support the team at The Victoria Foundation and the New Victoria Hospital on this exciting acquisition for the Healthcare sector, which will strengthen the services NVH provides to patients across multiple specialities and we expect to see it go from strength to strength under Bupa's ownership. UK private healthcare is undergoing active consolidation and this is the latest in a long line of recent Healthcare transactions we have been able to support clients on at Addleshaw Goddard. Our healthcare team has deep sector expertise and we were pleased to bring this to bear in helping to deliver this transaction.”
