Addleshaw Goddard again recognised as Top Law Firm for Compliance by WirtschaftsWoche - 2 partners rank among the best

The German business magazine WirtschaftsWoche has once again recognised Addleshaw Goddard as a top law firm for compliance. In addition, partners Jörg Bielefeld - who has been ranked for the sixth consecutive time - and Alexander Schmid are among the most renowned lawyers in Germany.

Jörg Bielefeld has been advising companies for over 20 years, not only preventively, but above all in crisis situations, for example in connection with the investigation of assaults and harassment (so-called #metoo cases) and in the event of damage caused by property, corruption, tax, customs and cyber offences. His experience as a criminal defence lawyer and his connection to investigators, psychologists, change and communication experts helps him to derive suitable measures to improve the compliance culture and organisation in companies with an interdisciplinary understanding and to avoid reputational damage in complex compliance cases.

Alexander Schmid advises companies preventively on the implementation, monitoring and adjustment of compliance measures and regularly conducts internal investigations. He also advises and defends companies as well as individuals in the field of commercial and tax criminal law. He focuses in particular on (criminal) tax, customs and foreign trade law as well as labour criminal law.

For the WirtschaftsWoche ranking, Handelsblatt Research Institute (HRI) asked 1,600 lawyers from 237 law firms to name their most renowned colleagues for white-collar and compliance. An expert jury of companies and trade press, including ZF, Thyssenkrupp, Peek & Cloppenburg, RWE and C.H. Beck, then selected 36 law firms with 51 highly recommended lawyers for compliance. The complete results can be found here.

Most recently, Addleshaw Goddard was recognised as a top law firm for dispute resolution, public procurement, and M&A in the WirtschaftsWoche rankings.
