Addleshaw Goddard launches new Private Wealth Finance Team with partner hire Laura Uberoi

Addleshaw Goddard launches Private Wealth Finance offering with new partner hire Laura Uberoi.

The Private Wealth Finance team will provide specialist advice to the firm's private bank, family office, high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients, across the globe. The unique focus of the Private Wealth Finance team is collaborative working relationships between parties and will tap into Addleshaw Goddard's market-leading expertise in complex, high value and cross-border finance to provide the highest quality service to such clients. The team is complementary to, and will work closely with, many other of the firm's practice groups, including Private Capital, Financial Regulation, Real Estate and Disputes. 

Laura has in-depth knowledge of the Private Wealth sector having worked over the last decade at Macfarlanes, Deutsche Bank and Farrer & Co with both lenders and borrowers on a range of multidisciplinary domestic and international debt finance transactions.

Laura Uberoi partner and head of Private Wealth Finance at Addleshaw Goddard said:

Laura joins Addleshaw Goddard from Macfarlanes.  She is also a key figure in the legal industry: currently sitting as a Law Society council member and main committee member of the City of London Law Society, former president of Westminster & Holborn Law Society, and former judge of the Women in Law Awards. She has taught at universities across the world, including University of Cambridge and the University of Melbourne and continues to lecture in her spare time. Before private practice, Laura worked with young people in detention facilities across the UK and separately on capital punishment cases for the Texas Defender Service in the USA.
