Aviation Consumer Policy Reform
A Department for Transport consultation seeks views on proposals to reform the Civil Aviation Authority's consumer enforcement powers, consumer dispute resolution, fight delay compensation and accessible air travel. Consultation ends: 27 March 2022.
Airspace Classification Review - Cotswold Region Draft Findings Report 2021
A Civil Aviation Authority consultation seeks views on the findings of its report into airspace usage within the Cotswolds. The findings include an overview of existing airspace change activity and of the different airspace control authorities operating within the region. It also sets out details of airspace classification and usage in the area centred around pilot and controller education, which may have a broader application to UK airspace and which, if adopted, may lead to a more efficient use of airspace across the UK. Consultation: Low carbon fuels strategy
A Department for Transport consultation seeks proposals, ideas and areas to be addressed in the creation of a long-term low carbon fuels strategy for the transport sector. Consultation ends: 3 April 2022.
- Electric Vehicles
Regulations: electric vehicle smart charge points
The Government has published guidance for sellers of electric vehicle charge points sold in Great Britain with relation to the Electric Vehicles (Smart Charge Points) Regulations 2021. The regulations and guidance cover both electric vehicle private charge points which are sold for use in a domestic or workplace environment and smart cables (defined as an electrical cable which is a charge point and is able to send and receive information).

Mobility as a Service: code of practice
The Department for Transport (DfT) has launched a consultation on the content that could be included in a mobility as a service (MaaS) code of practice. DfT has stated that it wants to gain further evidence on the development of the content of the code of practice. Consultation ends: 3 May 2022.
- Ports
Deal agreed to establish Green Freeports
A partnership agreement to establish two Green Freeports in Scotland has been reached between Scottish and UK Ministers. The joint offer allows both governments to offer tax relief and incentives through both devolved and reserved powers.

Railways: Light Rail - Briefing Paper
A House of Commons Library briefing paper gives an overview of light rail, including: the benefits of light rail and the barriers to its use; the ways that light rail has been implemented in the UK and internationally; and a list of Parliamentary Acts and Orders for Light Rail Schemes in England.
Agreement concerning Railway Undertaking Licences in respect of Rail Transport Services through the Channel Fixed Link
The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office has announced that an agreement has been reached between the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of the French Republic concerning Railway Undertaking Licences in respect of Rail Transport Services through the Channel Fixed Link.
Consultation outcome: Public transport ticketing scheme block exemption: call for evidence
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has published the outcome of its consultation into the effectiveness of the public transport ticketing scheme block exemption.

Call for evidence on shore power implementing maritime commitments in the Transport Decarbonisation Plan
A Department for Transport consultation seeks views on different aspects of supporting the deployment of shore power and the provision of shoreside electrical power to a docked vessel while its engines are shut down in the UK. Consultation ends: 25 April 2022.
International shipping and emissions
A POSTnote published by the UK Parliament examines the options for reducing emissions from international shipping activities and outlines the regulatory landscape of the sector. The POSTnote follows the Government's inclusion of international shipping in the UK Government’s sixth carbon budget, which means a rapid reductions in emissions from this sector will be required to contribute to UK’s goal of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
MGN 659 (M+F) Merchant shipping and fishing vessels (entry into enclosed spaces) regulations 2022
A Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) notice provides more information on the Merchant Shipping and Fishing Vessels (Entry into Enclosed Spaces) Regulations 2022 which place obligations on shipowners, masters, skippers, fishermen, employers of seafarers and others to take precautions to protect seafarers and fishermen from the hazards of entering and or working in enclosed spaces.
