In November 2020 the EU Commission released the long anticipated draft of the new Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), the first update in over a decade – and not before time, hot on the heels of the EDPB guidance on international transfers.

In this session we look at the current state of play with international transfers, how controllers and processors should be approaching the new draft SCCs and in particular:

• the direction of travel on finalising the new SCCs
• the content of the SCCs and how they differ from the existing SCCs 
• how should controllers and processors be planning to use the SCCs
