Addleshaw Goddard's Head of Innovation and Legal Technology, Kerry Westland, has been listed in this year's Hot 100, published by The Lawyer magazine.

The Hot 100 lists the top 100 UK lawyers, in-house counsel and non-legal professionals who have demonstrated exceptional achievements and made a real difference to their firm or profession over the last year, with nominations made from across the market. With a strong focus on innovation and technology, the list names Kerry as one of the leading figures in driving forward change across the legal sector. Kerry heads up AG's Innovation and Legal Technology team, having been instrumental in its creation and growth. The team challenges the delivery of legal services by investing in, developing and deploying AI tools such as Kira, and collaboration tools such as High Q, creating clever solutions for clients that are both faster and more cost-effective. AG's innovation and tech offering is a key component of the Firm's Intelligent Delivery approach.

Kerry's listing in the Hot 100 states:

She is dubbed a “secret weapon” by one partner for her ability to illustrate what the firm can do with technology at client pitches. She can succinctly demonstrate not only the tech the firm uses, but also how it can help clients.

Along with chief operating officer Axel Koelsch, Westland is having a major effect on the firm’s ability to win clients through new technology. The firm streamlined its Intelligent Delivery system last year and Westland played a key part in its design and utilisation.

In 2018 she will continue to question what the firm can do with technology. For Westland, just having it isn’t enough, it’s always about how the technology can best be applied to the client.

Kerry's role in developing the Firm's tech offering also saw her recognised as one of the Young Legal Innovators at the 2016 Financial Times Innovative Lawyer Awards.
