EXPERTISE 

Maxine is an Associate in the Litigation Department, with a particular focus on financial and contractual disputes. Maxine appears in Sheriff Courts across Scotland and has experience instructing Counsel.

Maxine provides advice on a wide range of contentious matters, including contractual disputes, residential and commercial property disputes and insolvency. Maxine has experience acting for commercial organisations, Banks, registered social landlords, creditors and private individual debtors. 

  • Acting for a Bank, recovering debts totalling in excess of £750,000 under an Invoice Discounting Agreement. Working with the Joint Administrators and HMRC in order to resolve outstanding disputes.
  • Acting in contentious matters involving social housing landlords, including conducting hearings in the Sheriff Courts for defended repossession actions and antisocial behaviour actions, as well as drafting bespoke style notices for use by social housing landlords. 
  • Experience in acting for landlords and landowners in disputes relating to rent arrears, dilapidation claims, nuisance complaints, irritancy and enforcement of payment. 
  • Acting for individual debtors at risk of personal insolvency in Personal Guarantee disputes and negotiating settlement agreements with creditors.
