Expertise

Stewart is a Partner in our Infrastructure, Projects and Energy team. He has over 20 years of experience of acting on infrastructure and project finance transactions, including PFI/PPP projects, energy/utilities projects and government concession arrangements. He has acted for a range of clients in both the public and private sectors, and has particular experience of working on the contractual aspects of large scale and complex public procurements. Stewart is recognised for his work in Legal 500, and is qualified in Scotland and in England & Wales.

Experience

PFI/PPP project companies: acting on numerous project procurements, infrastructure upgrades and other initiatives across the UK PFI/PPP estate, including work on large acute hospitals, multi-site school programmes and major roads schemes;
Ministry of Defence: advising on the £5.2bn Future Maritime Support Programme, leading the warehousing and logistics aspects of the project;
Official Receiver: acting on the PFI/PPP aspects of the insolvency of the Carillion group, including dealing with the transfer of numerous service contracts at public infrastructure facilities to new providers;
Lending Group to the Birmingham Highways PFI: acting on the restructuring and lender exit from this £2bn project in the West Midlands;
Aviva: acting on their programme of lending on numerous school and hospital projects under the Scottish Government's 'hub' initiative.
